Yep, it was just a setting I had to turn on Smile [:)]

It looks like the  'Post icon' section at the bottom of the page (when you are writing your message)  determines the smilie that appears in the post header, but you can still add your own smilies in you text, unfortunately you have to type these in to you message.  If you hover you mouse over the smilies at the bottom of the page you will see what you need to type, they are all in square brackets so a normal smilie is [ :) ] (without the spaces obvisouly Smile [:)]

I've just noticed that you don't need to type in the smiley - there is a drop down list when you are typing your post called 'Insert Smiley' and you can just select from there - don't know how I missed this before Confused [8-)]

i think that is just for a smiley at the top of a page , you still have to type in the correct characters for smileys at the end of a sentence in your post .Smile [:)]

well i think the way most forums are done is that the pages start from the origional post so people can see what has been discussed , some forums have a last post highlighted at the bottom of the page so people can jump straight to that if required or jump to any page number also (which we already have)  . We do have an individual option on here to change from newest to oldest or oldest to newest at the right near the top of the page i think if thats what you are after Tony .
