Hi Dean
Glad your o.k., we have the same problem with warm up's at my club, we only have short lessons so a short warm up is required, though my students don't actually get killed in the rush to take one.
When I started at Lenwood one of the higher grades normally took the warm up, sometimes you were chosen to take it & take it you did!
When I first went to Leyton as an orange belt (?) there were a lot of high grades & it was a large class & on my first appearance (I hardly knew anyone), a brown belt walked up to me & said that I was to take the warm up he told me what was expected & I just did me best. I remember he said well done afterwards - that was the first warm up that I took.
I remember on one of the first courses I attended, a 4th Dan took the warm up (very physical then push ups until he said stop!) & one of the Dan Grades decided he would do his own warm up (bad mistake!) the 4th Dan walked right up to him & persuaded him (not very gently) to do the same as us - this he did - very wise I thought at the time.
cheers
