Running for Leukaemia Research

JohnG 04-19-2006, 11:41 PM

Hi all,

Just to let you know that I will be running the Southend half marathon on Sunday 11th June for Leukaemia Research.  Bit of a last minute decision, so the build up is going to be quick (and probably a bit painful).  Anyway I will be looking for sponsorship when the forms come through, so hopefully I can generate a bit of hard cash from everyones generosity.  There's also a 3k fun run on the same day if anyone is interested (entry fees go to Haven and Little Haven Hospices)  All noises of support gratefully accepted!

Regards,

John

John, would be more than happy to sponsor you.  If you let me know how I can get the money to you that would be good (maybe mail me your bank details and I'll 'wire' it over).

I have a charity event which I will be doing early next year (I need more planning/training time Smile [:)]), so I'll be posting something similar myself soon!

John put me down for £5, I know your good for mileage - just one question ? will you be abstaining from the 'hard stuff' whilst in training ?  - now that would be a good sponser ! (HA! HA!)  GOOD LUCK (I'll drink to that!).

cheers & good reading of the latest batch of Karate England forms!

Thanks all, strangely I've received an offer of sponsorship from someone called Johnny Walker. I suspect it would be impolite not to use his products during training, you don't think I would be crazy enough to do this while completely sober do you?

Cheers Dean, I hear those white fivers are quite valuable now. I only appear to be still while training due to the speed I'm moving at lol.

When I get the sponsor forms I'll think about how to collect the dosh, and I'll be happy to sponsor you Ian when you've arranged yours.

Hi all,

I now have over £150 in sponsorship (so far).  Many thanks to all who have put in so far.

Look out all those going to next Mondays session, as I have enlisted the help of Natalie "the enforcer" Collins to help me collect ha.

Regards,

John

You won't have anyone turning up for lessons if that's the way you describe me!!!! lol!

Let alone sponsor you!

Whoops, I must have spelt enlightened wrong again, I'm always doing that. My boss says I always look mischievious for some reason, though personally I've no idea why (whistles innocently).  Was going to mention Barbara too, but thought it was safer not to lol.  Thought that grey haired little boy was doing quite well on Thursday, I think he may have done karate before.

Thanks for your help on Thusday, I know that Monday is going to be a better night for extortion  sponsorship, 160 quid now, still some more people to nobble at work. Looks like I'll have to cross the line even if I have to crawl over.

Hi all,

Judging by my time yesterday, I am heading for about 2 hours, must admit the money riding on it makes me slightly nervous so I'd better not get injured.  Someone at work has suggested I take a number for a cab firm, but I think that may be cheating!

Will bring the sponsor forms along on Sensei Sakagamis course for a little more shameless begging (it's a good cause).  Hopefully Natalie will have forgiven me for the earlier comment and use her well known friendly persuasive powers on people (sounds less likely to get me slapped, but doesn't seem as funny really).

Regards,

John

Hi Dean,

Slaps are actually quite a long way down the list (since they hurt a bit). Hugs are quite good, along with a kiss from the right person.  Sorry Dean u r just not my type lol (i am only prepared to go as far as the hug - maybe ha).

Am considering your place on my Christmas card list after that comment

Regards,

John

Actually blonde with blue eyes would be nice for a change, although I've always gone for dark haired before. Using the website as a dating service .... whoops.

NB - I'm not really as shallow as that, honest

Someone just told me about charity matching funds from the company I'm working for (think this applies even though I'm a contractor there).  I don't know yet if they will accept the application, but if they do they will match the donations made up to £250.  I currently have £198.50.  Excellent, will post the company name if they do it.
