02-13-2008, 9:06 AM toots Joined on 10-21-2005 Posts 102 answers please there is one thing that after training in the martial arts for many years now, has always puzzled me ? & this is it if anyone could just put my mind at ease over this issue i would be very gratefull & I would be able to continue with the rest of my life in peace - here it is ....WHY DID JAPANESE KAMAKAZI (SUICIDE) PILOTS WEAR HARD HATS ? (CRASH HELMETS?) ? It's a simple enough question ? does anyone know the answer - it was the days before all this Health & safety stuff ! so does anyone know ??????    Report

If the pilot could not find a target then it would also ensure the safe return to base . I guess the helmuts were also linked to breathing and communication devices ..at that high altitude they would be necessary i would think .    Report
